Yrjönkatu Swimming hall (2008)
One of the most beautiful public swimming halls in the world, the Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall opened in 1928. The building has notable historic and architectural value, representing the classicism of its day. The original design has been exquisitely maintained and restored. Men and women swim separately, either with or without swimsuits. Visitors can relax in the spa-like atmosphere on the second floor, which features individual stalls for private lounging. The facilities include a traditional wood-heated sauna, as well as an electric and steam sauna. Saunagoers can even enjoy a glass of traditional Finnish mead or sparkling wine. Towels, bathrobes and bench covers are provided by the house. The Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall also offers two private sauna departments that can be reserved: the historic Mannerheim Suite with wood-heated sauna and a more modern electric-heated sauna with jacuzzi.
