Night Of The Cats At Helsinki Zoo (2009)

On the “Night of the Cats” visitors to Helsinki Zoo on Korkeasaari Island get to watch the wild cats when they themselves are awake and active. On two evenings in September the gates to the zoo are open until midnight. The special programme includes everything to do with cats, plus music, theatre and a children’s workshop. The beautiful illumination and bonfires across the island add to the exciting atmosphere. The event encourages visitors to learn more about the protection of endangered cat species and to support fieldwork in the Russian Far East to save the Amur tiger and Amur leopard.
